THE BLOG IS BACK

Hello my book-loving friends. After surviving pregnancy sickness, giving birth, and figuring out how to take care of a tiny human..... my book-reading and reviewing is back and ready to roll! To kick things off, I'll be starting with an author that my sister-in-law recommended.  TO LOVE A BEAST by Karen Witemeyer I wanted to read a book by this author because she is a Christian author that writes stories based off of fairytales. I saw this one on Kindle Unlimited so I gave it a go :) ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved the twist that the author put on the original fairytale. I was constantly on the edge of my seat waiting to see how the story would unfold. There was also a great balance of scripture and encouraging language added to the story! My only drawback with this book was that the narration was confusing to me at times. Perhaps it was a "me" problem. I felt like it was supposed to be kind of a stream of consciousness style but it seemed to switch from character to character without a cl...

For The Love of Friends by Sara Goodman Confino

⭐⭐⭐⭐ My fellow bookworms. If you are into Hallmark movies, this book is for you.  It is one of those books that has the perfect amount of drama and romance.  I will say that I was only surprised by one small little (well actually a big detail but the ending happened just as I expected) in the ending.  So if you don't like predictable endings, maybe not the choice for you.  I will also say that I actually kind of related to this book!! Lily Weiss is in 5 weddings and has to figure out how to juggle everything that entails. And as the last friend to get married in my friend circles, I felt the struggle HAHA Anyways, on with the synopsis: Lily is like the girl in 27 dresses except the more realistic version.. She is in her brother's, sister's, work friend's, best friend's, and childhood best friend's weddings To cope with the stress (and to earn a bit of extra cash for the wedding budget), Lily starts a blog (which actually is what gave me this idea to start a blog...

The Spy Coast by Tess Gerritsen

4 STARS If I had to make a short overview for this book it might be something like this... The HEARTBREAK of Bridge to Terabithia The ROMANCE of a Matthew and Mary from Downton Abbey The SUSPENSE of a movie starring Tom Cruise BUT my overview doesn't have to be short because this is a blog post so..  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I wasn't so sure what to expect on this book. Books about spies have never really been my thing. But when a friend suggested we read this together I though "why not add another one to the goodreads goal for the year." Once I started reading, I couldn't stop turning the pages. The organization of past to present was well done. The author slowly revealed connections and relationships in such a subtle, beautiful way.  So the synopsis. of course.  Maggie Bird is a retired CIA spy. She looked for a safe,  quiet place to retire in Maine. However settled she felt in her own rural farm, she was never going to escape the cold case that was her former ...

Welcome to the Book Club!

Hello there :) All my life I have loved the feeling of picking up a book and diving into a different world. Whether it was a world of magic, mermaids, high school drama, fantasy, I always enjoyed sitting down with a good book.  After several years of intense school, swimming, studying, then a new career, I have found a new groove in being a bookworm.  My hope in sharing these book reviews is to create motivation and inspiration for others to find great books that they will enjoy as much as I do. I would also love to see what other people like to read and if they enjoy the same books!  With each book review, I will be sharing a few different things. My thoughts on the book A short synopsis with NO SPOILERS A language rating: 0 = no swearing 5= a lot of very inappropriate language A spice rating: 0 = no sexual descriptions or abuse 5= graphically detailed sexual scenes that should be censored With all that being said. I hope you enjoy your time here :)
